1. Language Policy
The IQN Web site respects the Official Languages Act and relevant Treasury Board policies, and is committed to ensuring all information on this site is available in both French and English. Content created by CIC is produced in both English and French. Searches can be conducted in either French or English. However, content contributed by registered members not subject to the Official Languages Act may be available only in the working language of that organization and/or user. CIC continues to work with its partners in developing bilingual terminology.
In order to facilitate navigation of the Web site, some information provided by external sources is offered in both languages as a courtesy to IQN Web site users. However, please note that notwithstanding the user's browser settings, all members' comments posted under Initiatives Information pages will be shown in the original language in which they were posted and none of them will be translated.

8. Privacy Statement
CIC is committed to providing a Web site that respects the privacy of users to the site. All personal information you do provide is protected under the federal Privacy Act.
- The IQN Web site does not automatically gather any specific personal information from you, such as your name, telephone number or e-mail address. We would only obtain this type of information if you supplied it by sending us an e-mail or registering in a secure portion of the site.
- All personal information created, held or collected by CIC is protected under the federal Privacy Act. This means that at any point of collection you will be asked for consent to collect your information, and you will be informed of the purpose for which it is being collected and how to exercise your right of access to that information.
- CIC uses software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. This software receives and records the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer that has contacted our Web site, the date and time of the visit and the pages visited. We make no attempt to link these addresses with the identity of individuals visiting our site unless an attempt to damage the site has been detected.
- CIC sometimes uses cookies to track how visitors use our Web sites. A "cookie" is a small file placed on your hard drive which gathers information like the length of each visit or your browser type. This information helps us improve our website. Cookies are never used to gather personal information like your name or email address, and we will not try to link any information to a visitor's identity or disclose it to any third party.
